It’s official, spring is here! While it may not always feel like it in the South Coast area, let’s get ready to celebrate. These are *free* or low cost,  family friendly events in our area happening this week.

NFIA Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 30, 2013, 9:00 a.m.
Livesey Park, Glenhaven Avenue, Fairhaven
Children gather behind Oxford School to search for candy eggs and specially numbered wooden eggs that are redeemed for prizes. There will also be prize drawings and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Sponsored by the North Fairhaven Improvement Association. Free.

Onset Village Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 30, 2013, 11:00 am.
Gazebo Park, Onset/Wareham
Be part of the hunt for over 4,000 Easter eggs! These eggs have been filled with goodies over the past few weeks by dedicated group who can’t wait to share them with the children of Onset! This is a free, family friendly event! Sponsored by The Onset Bay Association and local businesses.

New Bedford’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 30, 2013, 1 pm.
Hazelwood Park, New Bedford
The event is open to children ages 1-12 years and will include a variety of eggs
filled with goodies for all participants. The day will be comprised of an egg hunt, plenty
of games including an egg toss, egg rolling competition, an egg relay, and more.
The event is free and open to the public. Games will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the Egg
Hunt will commence at 1:00 p.m. The Annual Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by the City
of New Bedford Mayor’s Office, Parks, Recreation & Beaches, and the Community
Development Block Grant Program. For more information and to register a child to participate please call the Administrative Offices of Parks, Recreation and Beaches prior to the event at (508) 961-3015.

Milk & Cookies with the Easter Bunny
Saturday, March 30, 2013, 1 pm.
Buttonwood Park Zoo, New Bedford
Snack on milk and cookies as you visit with the Easter Bunny. Zoo admission, one ride ticket, and a small gift for each child are included in program price. Take your own photo of your child with the Easter Bunny. Participants must pre-register and pay in advance here or by calling (508) 991-4556 x 14.

Sippican Land Trust 3rd Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 30, 2013, 10 am.
Pierson’s Wood property off Point Road, past Marion Public Golf Course on the right hand side.
Hunt for eggs, follow a story walk and enjoy the Trust’s property with your kids. The event is free.

Plumb Corner Mall Easter Egg Hunt

Plumb Corner, Rochester
There will be food, activities, cookie decorating, face painting, an Easter egg hunt, and hayrides at 11 a.m.

Mashpee Commons Easter Fun
Saturday, March 30, 2013, 12 – 4 pm.
Mashpee Commons, Mashpee
There will be face painting around the fountain, balloon hats in Central Square near Cupcake Charlie’s, and the Easter Bunny himself will be roaming the Commons handing out eggs filled with chocolates from Ghelfi’s. It is free to participate, so swing by and partake in the fun!

Winslow Farm  Animal Sanctury Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 30-31, 2013 12 pm – 3 pm
Norton, MA
Fun is to be had by all. The Winslow Nature Trail holds. Easter treasures just waiting to be found. Be sure to look for the Easter Bunny along the path (or a kitty or two!). Included with the price of admission to the farm (cash or check only).
